Played Journey this week, on the recommendation of Linsey Murdock (and the Playstation of Klaus Steden). I found it beautiful, meditative and bite-sized. Played through the whole game in under 2 hours; drank a bunch of wine. I enjoyed interacting with the environment- hot desert followed by cold desert. Liked the simplicity of it, and at the same time longed for a greater challenge. I appreciated that I could not die but simply be relegated to further trudging. Basic shapes and a limited pallet, I thought, gave the art the feeling of a living breathing silkscreen print. The score was mellifluous but unexceptional. I would have loved additional diversity of instrumentation befitting the environment and the silent explorer, scarf-enthusiast, (Klaus: "Jawa-type muthafucker") with whom I was intertwined. All in all, an enjoyable game and a pleasant shift away from shooting everything that moves as electric guitar echoes through concrete bunkers. Well crafted, All. :)
